This session is developed by our local host, the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This presentation is designed as a hands-on course on the built-in features of the iPad that can make therapy more engaging and efficient. We will discuss the built-in accessibility features, evidence-based apps, and discuss how to use the iPad to assess and monitor therapy progress.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) (SLP)

Instructional Level:
Intermediate (Assumes general familiarity with the literature and professional practice within the areas covered)

Learner Outcomes:
Learner Outcome 1: identify at least three accessibility features built in on the iPad.
Learner Outcome 2: describe how to update the iOS system on the iPad and update apps.
Learner Outcome 3: name at least one feature when shopping for iPad stands and/or cases.
